Santa Anita Pick 'Em Contest Official Rules

ENTRY AND REGISTRATION

No purchase necessary; free to enter and to play. No cost for registration. Contest open to legal residents of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and Canada who are 18 years of age or older as of their date of registration.

Void where prohibited by law.

To enter the contest, go to https://pickem.santaanita.com and complete the electronic registration form. The entrant may register at any time to participate in the contest. Contestants must provide first and last name, date of birth, verified cell phone number, e-mail address, and create a username and password.

No faxed, electronically mailed, U.S. postal service entries or phoned-in entries allowed.

One entry per person (regardless of whether one person has more than one e-mail address).

Duplicate entries are cause for disqualification of all involved entries.

It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to notify Santa Anita Park if the entrant changes his/her verified cell phone number by calling (626) 574-6384 or emailing ambassador@santaanita.com, or by writing to: Santa Anita Park c/o Marketing P.O. Box 60014 Arcadia, CA 91066.

Santa Anita and its sponsor(s) assume no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, illegible or mutilated entries. Santa Anita is not responsible for lost, interrupted or unavailable hardware or software or technical failures, or jumped transmission or other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical or electronic. Once submitted, entries become the sole property of Santa Anita.

ELIGIBILITY

The following are ineligible to participate: officers and employees of Santa Anita Park or any members of their immediate families; trainers, jockeys and their agents; backstretch workers of horses wherever stabled or running.

HOW TO SIGN UP

There is no entry fee to participate in the Santa Anita Pick ‘Em Contest. To register, the entrant must complete the electronic entry form on https://pickem.santaanita.com. Each entrant must provide first name, last name, cell phone number, email address, and birth date. Each entrant will get a verification code via SMS that verifies entry into the Santa Anita Pick ‘Em Contest within one (1) hour of completing the sign-up process. Entrants must create a unique username and password to participate. Entrants may review their selections and standings on the official Santa Anita Pick ‘Em webpage: https://pickem.santaanita.com.

Entrants must use their Santa Anita Pick ‘Em Profile information for sign-up and selections in the Santa Anita Pick ‘Em Contest. Contestants with Santa Anita Pick ‘Em Profiles with non-functioning cell phone numbers or email addresses will be eliminated from participating in the contest.

HOW TO PLAY

Every Santa Anita Pick ‘Em contest day the entrant can make one selection for each prop on the Santa Anita Card through the contest webpage https://pickem.santaanita.com.

Each Santa Anita Card has a series of props and horse races the player can select from. Each prop or race that is selected correctly will receive one (1) point. If the prop resulted in an incorrect selection or in a “push” or tie will receive zero (0) points.

For each available Santa Anita Card, the player with the most points for that contest day will win the prize. If there is a tie of two or more players, the tie breaker will be in effect. If the tie breaker still results in a tie the remaining players will split the prize money.

For each season long contests, the player that has the most points by the end of the season will win the prize. If the season long contest results in a tie, those players will split the prize money. The current season long competition is between Saturday, April 20, 2024 through Sunday, June 16, 2024.

Players can earn a “Bonus Santa Anita Card”. The “Bonus Santa Anita Card” is a second set of selections the player can make. The player can only use one (1) “Bonus Santa Anita Card” per contest day (a total of two (2) Santa Anita Cards per contest day). The player will only get credit for the “Santa Anita Card” in which the most points were collected. For example, if the player’s first Santa Anita Card earned ten (10) points and on second Santa Anita Card earned eight (8) points, the player would only get credit for ten (10) points for that contest day.

PRIZES

Santa Anita Card winner: $500. A Santa Anita Card will be offered for the following dates: Saturday, April 20, Sunday, April 21, Saturday, April 27, Sunday, April 28, Saturday, May 4, Sunday, May 5, Saturday, May 11, Sunday, May 12, Saturday, May 18, Sunday, May 19, Saturday, May 25, Sunday, May 26, Saturday, June 1, Sunday, June 2, Saturday, June 8, Sunday, June 9, Saturday, June 15, Sunday, June 16.
Season Long Contest (the player that has the most points from Saturday, April 20, 2024 through Sunday, June 16, 2024) will receive $1,000.

Entrants can win multiple prizes per contest period.

SCRATCHES AND OTHER SPECIAL CONDITIONS

In the event an entrant's selection is a late scratch or declared a non-starter for pari-mutuel wagering purposes, the entrant will receive the actual betting favorite in that respective race.

In the event that the entrant did not make any selections or missed the deadline to make selections, the entrant will not be allowed to make the picks for that day. Deadlines to enter for each Santa Anita Card will be clearly posted. Deadlines to enter are subject to change.

If for any reason a prop or race is canceled or declared a no contest, no player will get a point for that prop or race. If a prop involves multiple races and any races are cancelled for that contest day, no player will get a point for that prop or race.

Any unforeseen circumstance will be judged by Santa Anita Park Officials. All rulings are final.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

The laws of the United States govern this contest. All Federal, State, provincial and local laws and regulations apply. By entering, participants release and hold harmless, Santa Anita Park, Select Web Ventures, their sponsors, their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, trustees, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connecting with any prize won. Winners are subject to all State and Federal Tax Requirements.

CONDUCT

The official rules will be posted throughout the contest on the Santa Anita Park contest website at pickem.santaanita.com. By entering the contest, the entrant agrees to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of Santa Anita Park, which shall be final and binding in all respects.

Santa Anita Park and its sponsors reserve the right to, at their sole discretion, disqualify any individual that: tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the contest or website; violates the official rules; or acts in a disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.

NOTIFICATION

Winners will be notified by e-mail or phone within 10 business days after the date the winners are determined. Winners may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and acceptance of these official rules and a publicity/liability release (unless prohibited by law) within 30 business days following attempted notification.

By accepting any prize, the winner grants permission to Santa Anita Park use their names and/or likenesses for publicity and promotional purposes without further compensation, unless prohibited by law and agree to execute a written consent upon request.

In the event of a dispute about the identity of any entrant, entries made online will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to a verified cell phone number or email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization too is responsible for assigning email address for the domain associated with the submitted email address. A potential winner may be required to provide the sponsors with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the winning entry.

By registering for Santa Anita Pick ‘Em Online Contest, you acknowledge and agree to the 1/ST Privacy Policy.

JUDGING AND DISPUTES

The management of the Los Angeles Turf Club, Inc. reserves the rights to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to this event, without claim for damages or recourse of any kind. All questions and definitions not covered explicitly in these rules will be decided by the management of the Los Angeles Turf Club, Inc., with those decisions to be final.
